USN T-2/A-4 Commercial Depot Program

Maintaining the Life of Veteran Training Aircraft

Since 1995 Sabreliner has been the U.S. Navy's provider of depot-level maintenance, scheduled and unscheduled, for its fleet of T-2C and TA-4J trainer aircraft, as well as for foreign-owned T-2's and A-4's under the Foreign Military Sales program. Sabreliner successfully completed work on 64 aircraft in the first five years.

Because of the age of the aircraft, repair parts are in extremely short supply. Sabreliner continues to meet and exceed program delivery requirements by aggressively working around material-related issues and shortages. The company has identified vendors to rework parts not readily available, re-designed parts to be efficiently manufactured, and designed and manufactured repairs for parts no longer available. Additionally, Sabreliner has undertaken additional Navy overhaul/rework contracts for the most challenging components, including actuators for the landing gear and the canopy.

The Navy has ordered a large quantity of additional work, and based on the effectiveness of the company's partnership with the Government, has negotiated an additional multi-year contract for continuing Sabreliner commercial depot services.

The Navy T-2C's are projected to remain in service beyond 2010. Meanwhile, there are sizeable fleets of foreign-military T-2D, T-2E, and A-4 aircraft still in active service, which Sabreliner is fully qualified to maintain.
